Code 100 ?  Insulfrog points are self wired so that only the track selected has power on it.
I am not sure what you mean  by jump leads ie.black to black orange to orange

a close up photo of a point with the wiring would help

If you connect power to the toe end of a point, can you drive a loco on the 3 tracks per unit?

all my points and track are code 100. i connect 2 boards  with a plug and socket, male on 1 board female on the other.the wires are soldered to the side of the rail. i have a 4 inch piece of straight from the toe of the point to the edge of the board to which i solder the feed wires. when the 2 boards are plugged together the loco will only travel on to the 4 inch straight.once it crosses the point to one of the 3 tracks it does not move. i was thinking that if the points were insul frog it was a simple "plug n play" and power fed to the toe.hope this is a bit more useful if you need more info  please say and i will answer as best i can
thank you

Ron,these are the type of points used with the feed  connected to the short straight. I am testing the board at the moment and it looks like dodgy contacts but will let you know after testing. these are peco sl89 insulfrog

That is good Alan, now having seen the photo, my first thought was poor contact between blades & stock rails.
This is a case for a multimeter to check co0ntinuity and or voltage.
