I 've had an ECM Compspeed feedback controller for years and want to use it on my DC layout, problem is I can't recall how to use it!

There's a speed range dial and a feedback switch with 0, I and II settings. (see picture below).

I assume 0 cuts out the feedback, but I'm not sure on the I and II settings and the speed range dial inter acts with them.

I've not wired it up as I'm not sure if it will damage todays trains. I understand that DCC trains should not run with feedback controllers. I have two DCC related trains on with a chip and one without and I wanted to run them as DC using using the Compspeed but not sure if I should.

Can anyone provide any advice?

I use mine with DCC ready locos no problem but dont have any with a chip fitted so cant comment on that. I have found that the poorer quality locos run better with feedback whilst the newer locos dont respond as well.....question of trying it really....

I'm i right in believing that the 0 on the feedback switch means no feedback?

Graham, I could suggest you ask on RMweb forum - that has a far larger member base.

Sometimes it can take a long time in Googling and checking the many links to find the info required
