Pictures of construction

The requirement was for a layout which could be stored taking up minimal space, but able to be erected easily by a small 12 year old.

The storage space available was in the space between door and wall, behind a bunk bed. This dictated the overall size of the table. Width door frame to wall - 3 foot. Reach of boy - 4' 6" Distance wall to end of bunk bed 6".

A radio control flyer volunteered to build the table. The aeroplane construction experience influenced the light weight design.

 2 ft end pieces attached  so that it could be stored standing up on end.

Legs to be hinged;

Legs now attached. Note castors on left and support on right so that the table can be moved whilst still on end.

Close up of castors

Back piece added to mount back scene. It slides into groves in the end piece supports, so is removeble.

Standing on it's own legs with back piece taken out

The owner can't wait for trackl laying to commence

Now that looks a good construction and loads of space on it to build a neat track and storage area etc, look forward to this build, well done.
