Certainly celebrated here with my recently found [3 years] hobby of baking, encouraged by St Mary of the Berry and Fra. Holywood.
So, the Hot Cross buns…to work!
Strong flour, caster sugar, lemon zest, sultanas, milk, all in the Kenwood, speed No. 1 then the yeast, salt and a heaped teaspoon full of……

…..Garam Masala…..?
AAagh!
It was right next to the Mixed Spice…Honestly…Sob.
What do you do with a bowl full of ingredients like that? Well, bake them. So instead of a fragrant waft of Easter Spices, a smell akin to Gandhi's Starboard flip-flop….
Hope this makes you smile after my miserable posts of late,
Doug
P.S. They are delicious. The management won't even try them. Good, more for me, a smear of Mango chutney, a sliver of Parmesan, yum.

Really glad to see that springtime is working its magic at chez Chubber.
Very best wishes,
Bill :)
P.S. Thanks for the recipe
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

I have been guilty of the same error but I suspect your spicy buns were much more palatable than Rogan Josh made with Vanilla Yoghurt

Luvely with a some nice ham, mature cheddar and chutney.
The chillies were bound for the wok the other side of the mixing bowl with the bread dough in it, but tripped over the Kitchen hoovers (dogs) round my feet that were ready incase I dropped anything.

I definitely detect a goodly amount of spicing in there. Garam Masala is a mixture and can vary so according to what you have in your blend the buns might be good or not.
As it's Goat Friday here tonight may include the ordering of a delivered-to-the-door goat vindaloo. I know it's also supposed to be fish and chips night by local tradition but the Leader of the Opposition is very firmly opposed to fried takeaway food on medical grounds. Hers, rather than mine or the World's in general.
