Ex GWR 2-8-0 Locomotive No. 3850 at Minehead on the West Somerset Railway. In 2008 it was green

Awaiting it's turn of duty, GWR prairie 5553 (allegedly owned by Pete Waterman) lurks at the terminus of Minehead station.

Having said that, I just had a look at her in Barry Scrapyard and the transformation is amazing…….:shock: Why, I wonder, has she been allowed to get into that state again ………

As she's in BR livery they are probably going for the authentic look Peter :roll:Lovely shots of the Manor Kevr but the poor old Prairie looks as if she needs a bit of TLC ……..

I wish I could remember who it was who was complaining about a bend in his platform.
There's a prototype for everything. ;-)

I agree Woody - the LNER wouldn't have a loco in that state either. I'm surprised Pete Waterman has one ……….:shock:

The big black beastie is an ex-GWR 28xx class 2-8-0 heavy freight engine usually used on freight, but occasionally, like their LMS 2-8-0 counterparts, were also used on passenger duty,
The prairie tank is also ex-GWR a SMALL as opposed to large prairie. These were branch line locos, and were the common engine on the Newquay and other Cornish and Devon branches. The large prairies were longer locos with bigger wheels and operated on mainlines around London.
