Rivets, on 200GSM paper, I marked along a pencil line every 2mm and then used the point of a very small round file & pressed it into the paper. Turn it over & there you are - rivets. I cut the paper into 2mm wide strips & ( with some choice words …) get it glued into place.
Close up, one can see the variances in the rivets but the 3ft rule - all OK

G`day Ron,
I suspected it may have been something like that. I have done something similar only with card. I think yours has turned out better than mine. I`ll have to try your system.
Thanks for that.

to be weathered

ODS stands for Orr-Denton stone - a couple of operators on my layout the D&S

Edit- I knew I should have used macro or something else to get rid of the focus problem…

Macro is the way to go Ron,

The wagon is looking good…….is there more detail to go below or is that the prototypical look????……I`m not familiar with the detail on these wagons.

I guess I should put some card to represent the shutes underneath based on some photos I just found on the Net

The hopper in post #15 is actually a Mainline version with the brake shoes not in line with the wheels but in line with the solebars and has a air cylinder in the middle of floor underneath the hoppers !
The new version by Bachmann ( which took over Mainline) has brake shoes in line with wheels & no air cylinder under the floor.

OK?????
I`ve stuffed that one up :hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm:hmm
There doesn`t seem to be a way of editing this booboo or getting rid of it….????

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gormo

Right…….try again

Ok Ron…..this part of the chassis arrowed it`s what`s confusing my eye. I know it`s there I`ve seen the parts laid out but possibly it`s just the angle and it seems hidden.
Doesn`t matter….it`s a nice model and unique…….sorry about the stuff up above.
