Hi all, my first post here.

I've been modelling for 40 years, stopped about eight years ago but have kick started again last week, this time with DCC.

NCE Powercab 5amp, and i'm just installing sound decoders.

Please bare in mind that this layout is not finished, quite a lot of the buildings etc are scratch built as is the track which is SMP. The points are also scratch built and include Double slips, three way etc.

The locos are Bachmann, the 57xx has an etched brass chassis and a Mashima motor with flywheel, the 61xx is a South Eastern Finecast, again with the Mashima 60.1 and flywheel.

Here's some pics to start!

Phil

PS. The room also doubles as a recording studio, hence the sound proofing on the walls.

No name! It's as you can see though based in the South Wales valleys.

Since getting back to it I have re-wired it, cutting out the cab control sections which only add to problems when using DCC.

When everything is up and running properly i'll be adding to the cenery, buildings etc because as I mentioned the scenes in the pictures are about 70% finished.

Phil

No objections Robert!

Thanks all for your kind comments!

It is a bit of a learning curve going from DC to DCC but it's now all coming together, also leaving a layout and loco's for eight years untouched is not ideal:roll:

There are lots of things I want to improve on especially after viewing my pictures. The line of work I am in is very artistic, intricate and precise and I want to add this to what is already there which should improve it........I hope
I've been out of this a long time, things have changed, luckily good quality has'nt;-)

Fitting the decoders is my priority at the moment, then getting all points working smoothly, then on to the scenery.

Phil

Excellent work Phil.  Maybe you should consider submitting an article to one of the model railway magazines.

Thanks Max.

Pete, it has'nt been exhibited anywhere, it's not portable.

Terry, i'm not thinking of applying for a magazine article, at the moment I don't think it's good enough.
