Many years ago I built a Slaters kit of a Midland 8 Ton Box van. It got painted with the LMS transfers applied but not the running number, tare etc. Problem is I appear to have lost the instructions which probably gave some guidance on number range and placement etc.

Can anyone who either has the instructions or the knowledge give me some help please.

Thanks in advance

By an amazing stroke of serendipity I received the very thing, second hand,  just the other day (#4030).  Running numbers(Tare):

5095(5.9), 30338, 32399(5.5.1), 60172(5.11), 78179, 100384(5.14), 102321, 114193(5.7.0), 144438.

My kit must be old since it has plastic wheels.

The instructions are pretty generic, covering other kits in the Slater's range as well.

John

Many thanks John, that's very helpful.

I would welcome a bit more info if there is any guidance. Do the instructions confirm if the number goes at the bottom left hand corner and the tare on the right? Also where the letters LMS are positioned.

Thanks again if you able to help

For LMS, the load rating (8T) was in the center of the door.  Immediately under that was the running number.  This was all more or less centered within the lower framing triangle.  Tare was on the right of the body.

Cheers

John
