Shaun, asking for a download that is mentioned on Scalescenes prints being in that unauthorised, copying, downloading etc is strictly prohibited , is not a good thing especially as the owner of Scalescenes is a member of this forum. The file size is 4mB & to purchase it so you can have as many copies as you like , is £4 & that should not break the bank. |

It's not being cheeky Shaun, it's as Sol said - infringing copyright and that's illegal. Like everyone else, copyright owners have to make a living and they can't do that if people pass copies of their work around. Would you work for free ? I doubt it. ____________________ 'Petermac |

hi just to say i will not want the bridge as i dont to get on the wrong side of anyone and i understand with copyright and so on. right as i want to print some back scenes will this mean i can not print things from gc textures ? as this has got me wondering as at some point some one will own the pics. | |||||||||

If they're published as "copyright free" then you can do what you like with them Shaun. You can print off anything you find on the net for your own non-commercial use. The problem arises when it comes to publishing or offering a copy of something commercial. Copyright means just that - the right to make a copy. All Scalescenes downloads are stated to be available for your own use and can be printed off as many times as you like. "For your own use" being the important bit. You pay not only for the print, but also for the "right" to "copy" it whenever you like - it remains on your list of downloads within your computer. Passing those copies on to anyone else breaches the copyright. I'm pretty sure GC Textures are "freely avaialable" to all comers. As such, there would be no need to "pass them on" as everyone already has free access to them. In short - you're safe to print them off for your own use. ____________________ 'Petermac |

The problem is, if you're on a very tight budget, the can of suede paint costs more than the whole bridge from Scalescenes. I don't think it's really fair to compare the two - either in terms of the standard of modelling or the cost. Just about anyone can make a reasonably presentable job of a Scalescenes download given a bit of time and care, not many could produce something even close to Jim's bridge. ____________________ 'Petermac |

Hi Shaun Sorry but it's just bits of microstrip stuck to a base and sprayed with suede paint. Assuming you can stick 2 things together theres no way you couldn't make something exactly like it. It's a damn site easier than wrapping paper print outs round cardboard I can tell you! Don't give up before you have had a go. Hi Martin Sure - see http://www.flickr.com/photos/rpmarks/5869487231/ You might be right in that it might be steel underneath but the surface is definitely concrete. Remember when new street was rebuilt concrete was the wonder material of the day, there's masses of it in all shapes and textures! It might be to textury Shuan but have a go with it and see. I can only do this stuff though trial and error. Try some on a bit of card and see what happens. If it works I will nick the idea from you! Hi Shaun. Instead of masonary paint I used exterior white emulsion mixed with a bit of polyfilla and a bit of PVA to make a sticky coating. Not sure of the proportions - sort of suck it and see (no, don't suck it...) I coated the cottage pictured below, though it doesn't show too well in the picture, in real life its quite effective as cement render. HTH Shaun. (the other one)  |
