First, a couple of photos of him & his set up he had at the show.

Testing an 0n30 loco.

More to come once I have sorted them out.

A few of one modular layout built by an Aussie repesenting the 1930's in LMS country. This layout won trophies as voted best by the public & judges. photos taken by yours truly.

Great Shots Ron. That was a very neat looking layout.......it had a very "complete " feel about it. You sensed a great deal of thought had gone into the placing of every component.......it all hung together very well. The Metcalfe buildings didnt look at all out of place either

The man didnt look very happy:lol:

OK.  Here we go.  I grabbed my camera and charged around whilst someone watched my display.

We started Saturday morning before the doors open with the usual morning gathering of exhibitors, followed by a minute of silence to remember Robbie Burford; a long serving Convener of the exhibition.

Hopefully the remaining shots will give an overall impression of the exhibition.

Well, there you have it.  A kind of cross section of what was there.  We started setting up Friday morning and ran until Monday afternoon.  A presentation (all you can eat), dinner was held Sunday night.  The exhibition was held at the greyhound track and catered for by the greyhound track staff.

I think that about 2000 people came through the doors each day.  The total was up this year by 600 on Sunday night, so by the time it was all over, the Convener dubbed it a success.  I hope you have enjoyed the piccies.

Thanks, John.

An interesting sidelight to the experience was the reaction of the visitors.  Over the three days, exhibitors came over to borrow the laptop to programme Zimo, QSI or Loksound decoders.  They brought locos they were selling to demo them to customers, or they brought  their own locos over to have them programmed.

If we believe the numbers, 5000 + punters walked past my display and I reckon about 6 per day stopped to ask me about DCC sound.  I watched the others and saw their eyes glazing over as they looked at the screen and watched the movies of my trains running.

It brought home to me how small the inroads sound has made into the modelling world.  I hate to think what would have happened if I was showing RR&Co!     A sobering experience.
