Norwich Model Railway Club are holding their Exhibition on 16th April 2011 at a new venue, Hellesdon High School, Norwich:

It's not a huge show but will have about 16 layouts and several traders and Societies attending. All being well, I shall be calling in for a visit.

The new venue for the Norwich exhibition is much bigger than the previous one, but the show was still crowded with people. :shock:I would guess that attendance was well up on last year.

The show is spread over two large halls and a smaller room, plus a separate refreshment area. Parking was on the sports fields at the rear of the school.

It's about a thirty mile round trip for me. I got part way there this morning and realised I had forgotten my camera!

Fortunately, I had my phone with me so I took a few pictures with that. The quality is not brilliant but they are better than nothing.

The trade stands were fairly varied but limited in the range of goods available, perhaps not surprisng for a smallish exhibition.

All in all, it was a good show and I look forward to attending again next year.

It all looks very familiar, Perry.

Thanks for taking the trouble to share it with us.  :thumbs

Nice pictures but a shame about the sea of white hair and bald pates. I would have hoped to see more younger men there. Perhaps they go to the bigger shows. I hope.

There were quite a few 'Arctic blondes' there, Bob, but there were quite a few families and dads with small sons too. I guess I just didn't catch them with the camera. It can be a bit dodgy pointing cameras at kids these days.:???:

The organisers had made an effort with some layouts provided specifically for children to play with. There was also a rather novel push-button facility on one of the layouts that enabled the kids to activate one of the old Hornby(?) mailbag sets, in which the coach drops off and collects a mailbag automatically. There was quite a queue for this!

There was one little chap who couldn't have been much more than five or six years old, but I can't recall anyone ever being as excited as he was at watching a layout in action. A future railway modeller for life, if I'm any judge of character. :thumbs

That's all good to hear Perry, especially about the youngsters.
