As most of you know, I don't currently have a layout, but am building towards a new one which will be Japanese themed.  This is one of the buildings for the layout, it is a small rural Japanese hotel, these are sometimes known as Ryokan and there is in fact a Ryokan society, bit like a webring I suppose or the equivalent of the British FSB

Main entrance - ground floor is scratch built, the idea being that this was originally and Inn or such like, expanded to a small boutique hotel.  Must get a shot of this inside, there is in fact a red sofa (you might just see it through the door) a reception desk, 2 ATM's, a couple of vending machines, the lift doors, and some nice hotel style "art work" on the walls

The four further floors are made from Greenmax kits

To modernise, the owners had to install a lift, hence the lift shaft to the rear of the property

A view along the corridor to the lift doors

Finally the engineers have finished fixing the air con!

As you can see, just 4 rooms to a floor, each well appointed with a double bed, en-suite facilities and a desk

One day I will have a layout to put it on!

I will probably do another 2 floors like this and make the lowest floor partially a conference room and, well, who knows what else

Now you are really, really stretching it with N scale Lawrence. Just think what you could do with 4mm.

Stroll on Lawrence - I thought I was doing well putting nets & curtains in the windows in 4mm! Superb piece of modelling - looking forward to seeing more.  Interesting & unusual prototype as well.  All the best. Mal

Bob, I did scratchbuild an office chair, but I made it too small would you believe, would have worked for Z scale though.

Mal - thanks for your comments, you have just reminded me about what I am going to use as window coverings though
