For those who don't know, this iconic layout is kept at Pendon Museum near Didcot. It is operated only on a few occasions each year and one of those is this Saturday, 5th March. It also coincides with the Abingdon Clubs show close by.

It would make a very good day out to take both in especially to catch a glimpse of perhaps the daddy of present day scenic modelling and the inspiration for many of us card builders.

If anyone is thinking of going let me know.

I saw Madder Valley at Pendon in the early 1970's.
Had the good fortune to have a chat with Roye England and as it was a quiet mid-week afternoon he ran a couple of trains on it for us.
Brilliant modelling and it makes me wonder what John Ahern would produce today with the tools and materials we have available.

Hopefully I shall get there again at some point in the future.

Saturday 5th March... ;-)

Hopefully St Piran will be giving a guiding hand to ensure a smooth running day then....

The rest of us will be treking over/through sand dunes...
