It clashes with Darlington, but there's no way I can get up there!! Any YMR members going to Wigan??? A Friend of mine(Simon Cullen,Glossop MRC)is exhibiting his modern image blue diesel era layout,"Port William".

Please note - as advised in its own topic - that Darlington has been cancelled owing to the ongoing severe weather conditions.

You could try the other Wigan Show the weekend after on the 10th & 11th,

the snow should have cleared by then.

See here for details of the show.

The dates were showing 10 / 11th December, so it looks like someone has had a go.  That would be friday and saturday though, presumably sat and sun would be correct, so I have altered the dates again.  If it really should be fri and sat though let me know and I will alter them back!

Throwing stones in Glass Houses springs to mind......

My apologies on a 24 hour time shift, it's Sat/Sun of course which is the 11th/12th, so where did I get the other dates from...

Down here in west Cornwall, beyond Penzance, we have a couple of inches of snow this morning, the dog is not amused, then neither am I as I have got to go and put out cables for festive lights, all part of the domino effect, but hopefully not all falling down (e.g. until the cables are out the electrics can't be tested, the displays have only just started going up because the scaffolding was late, the scaffoldings late because the contractor has been a part of the Rok Co. debacle..... 'there's a hole in my bucket, dear L...' ).

Let's hope the snow doesn't cause another show to be cancelled. Not only Wigan but the Mousehole lights. From all reports and conversations yesterday was the harshest it's been down there in many a long year. All points west of Hayle said to be virtually at a standstill all day with friends snowed in up the back of Penzance.

Hopefully wi' a bit a luck i might make it Sunday, just hope it ain't packed early doors. It seem's to be getting a larger and popular show, looking at other forums, comments about pies are wearing thin with the organisers:mutley

Brian, Matt interested?

None Brian! my LDT's signal decoders have arrived but have gone to my work address:cry::cry: I am going to have a busy Christmas break. I don't think i need owt else electronic. Well saying that i am going to do lighting which i will definately support John at Broms mods...new year resolution support our supporters.

To be honest Brian looking at the traders list i can't spot a DCC specialist on the list..which is strange.

Talking of exhibitions is there planning for another YMR exo next year?

Just got back from Wigan, and it was absolutely packed out with people.Tony Wright and Pete Waterman were there, and there were some lovely layouts...just a bit hard to get a decent look-in at times!
Can anyone tell me why people go to these larger shows which they KNOW are going to be crowded wearing ENORMOUS rucksacks that would not look out of place up the North face of the Eiger???
.........Anyhow,a few little videos to follow as soon as poss.............

Yep - went today too.  Great show - always enjoy it.  Some fantastic layouts - I never get tired of watching Blackmill - Oulton TMD is great too.

I agree re the rucksacks - does seem a bit foolish and unecessary in a crowded place - I was wacked by someone who seemed to think he was the only person there!

I thought the YMR expo was to be bi-annual, if this year's was successful.

Penlan (the Layout) is on the list for 2014 I believe, if we get that far.

You're right Penlan.  A second YMR show was never envisaged for 2011.

If, and it's still an "if", there is a repeat performance, it will be in 2012.
