Went along to this excellent show this morning, saw a couple of faces from here, but also saw this stunning layout - Diesels in the Duchy.

Nice to meet you Stuart. Agree that Duchy Diesels is a superb layout - and I am a steam man!

Now that does look like an interesting layout, how big was it, did it have much more than the shed area ?

Brian, I have got another photo of the turntable, I'll post it when I get to the computer.
Alan, the first view is virtually all of the layout. The exit to the far FY can be seen to the right of the central shed. The train to the right of this is on an unconnected 'main line' which curves away from the scenic area. Behind the camera the two tracks leave to a small headshunt off stage.

It really is as good as it looks -if you can get to Wadebridge tomorrow it's worth a visit.

As promised, a close-up photo of the turntable, and some more general shots.

Also at the show, and another layout not to be missed, was "Osney Town". I make no excuses for publishing these four pictures, which only show some of the exquisite details.

Osney Town is O gauge, DCC sound, approx 6' long, just a short line into a single platform. I can dig out some older photos if required.
The stock consists of a pannier & auto coach, a single unit DMU and a static 16t steel wagon in the dummy siding.

Rather nice workmanship, I agree. Looks like a blend of St. Blazey roundhouse and several other localities nearby.

Those areas are frequently modelled but seldom so well as "Diesels in the Duchy" which I seem to recall has appeared on other sites as it is familiar to me though I have not seen it in person.

The scenic work on Osney Town is about as good as it gets as well.

Thanks for your pics!

Thought it had to be as the quality of the modeling is top notch and the detail is to good for 00.

As for more images :roll: yes please
