Hi all next weekend will be Shildon clubs show at the Shildon civic hall. I will be there with Potters lane. Rachel will be my other operator for the weekend so this should be intresting as she has operated the layout using the DCC system when we did our first shows but not since the layout was extended with the fiddle yards. If any members are going at the weekend and would like to have a go at operating for half an hour or so please feel free to volunteer as it will give her a break.  :thumbs

A month later Dave and I might have been there but it's just 4 or 5 weeks too early for me.

Hope it goes well.  Give my regards to your co-driver. :cheers

Having seen the venu and some of the layouts I might be in with a chance of.... or am I just dreaming again !! Actualy the last time potters was out in the north east it wasn't finished and then there was that unfortunate incident at Birtley back in March about being disqualified as we were winning the public vote yet there as a trade stand.

Dave,

Hope it all goes well for you and you get some work out of it.Its about time you had some success,God knows you've worked hard enough, you really deserve a bit of luck...so if the Big Man Upstairs is looking down,c'mon and give our Dave a bloody break!!!
As for women drivers,I'll bet she won't do what I did and drive one off the end!!
Good luck mate,I'll be at the Manchester Show later today, but I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! All the best.

Cheers,John.B.:thumbs

Cheers John I just hope we dont have anymore problems this weekend as the repaired controller packed up again last night during layout testing and managed to distroy the transformer power pack too! I have robbed the gaugemaster unit from the garden railway so will be testing that on the layout in about an hour providing that the hall 'is' open at 8.30! Enjoy the Manchester show. :thumbs

On the whole today went well although the hall was very hot and my feet hurt !! The gaugemaster controller performed well and everything worked as it should. One of the display boards had westcoast stuff on whilst the other was all about the modules. This generated a lot of intrest from the viewers coupled with the module video showing them in action. A guy that I know from work has requested a set of module specs so looks like there may be another module in the making. My 156 sprinter needs some TLC as it still lacks a traction tyre after loosing one down in cornwall. Hopfully tomorrow will be cooler!

Glad to hear it all went well.I didn't get to Manchester today,I developed a very gippy tummy (dodgey pint last night)and went back to bed until lunchtime! Rather than be in a rush,I decided to go to the show tomorrow and spent what was left of the afternoon finishing off tracklaying for the second fiddle yard for Perranporth.Hope your man-flu doesn't give you too much trouble tomorrow, just keep battering those lemsips!!
I've just been looking back at the beginning of Potters Lane, where you had everything on the kitchen table with track supported on video tape boxes! Its amazing to look back at,because I can remember it like it was yesterday. Some journey you've made with it since then,eh??

Anyway,I'm going to make some wire trees tonight,so all the best for tomorrow mate.

Cheers,John.B.:thumbs
