Pete that is one of our attributes here is the fact any member can post things about what they are doing or ask even what may be considered stupid questions without fear of somebody belittling them which unfortunately sometimes occurs on the larger forums. With thousands of members it is a horrendous task to keep track of what is going on and a constant headache for the moderation teams. Yes there are the occasional disputes and differances of opinion here but things to date have never got out of hand as we have a moderation team that is worldwide and gives 24/7 cover for any problems. Yes the video is good and you must be pleased with the result and done with a proper colour diesal  Brian |

Too much progress Brian to the detriment of the layout! i am moving it shortly against another wall so i can move on with the buildings and scenery. I'm off to the "Glums" (model shop near the docks)tomorrow to get a few scenic bits so i can build and paint while i am in France on holiday. Hows your project going? Pete thats a great vid, i does show what TC can do. imagine multiple schedules set up with all the bells and whistles. i think you need to ask yourself if you had a sound capable loco how many times would you use it to its full potential if you were pressing the buttons? i think it would get tedious after about a week and i think around 20% of modellers would sit and press buttons and the remainder 80% just using the engine and horn.with TC you can set up a schedule and once the work is done that would be it. on a large layout with a number of tunnels and signals, operating more than one loco with sound would be impossible. with TC you could have as many sound locos as you want all making the right sound at the right time. a question how many sound files can be stored on the decoder? |

Hi Matt. It's not a question of how many, but how big each one is. From memory there is about 60 seconds of capacity in the 3.5. Each .wav file is usually a part of a second long. Anything that has to run continuously (like and engine), is usually looped. So far I haven't had a situation where I've run out of room.
