I bought a cheap japanese set just before Christmas, the paint quality was better than most... I'll dig out the manufacturers name...

Single controller or twin for the two track circuit? (EDIT: Ah, Don's beaten me to it I see...)

That's the idea, Don (you have it right several times!).

Two different controllers operating opposing track with the option of opening a tap into the two single tracks or crossing from inside to outside as shown.

The plan won't change much now (I hope).
Surprising how the open spaces are filling up with activity on my sketch pad.
The track you donated has broken the back of what has to be done and, if nothing else, has given me the clues as to what is needed in addition.

Don't interfere with your holiday packing, washing your swimwear etc. - there is plenty with which I can be getting on in the way of scenery.

Thanks as always.

Don sounds like he already has the plan sketched out in his head whereas I'd have to think about it so I'll pull MY head in. :mutley

Copy of a reply I made to Don who has kindly prepared a wiring diagram.
It brings progress up to date:

"Don: That was quick! Hopefully it's in wires of one syllable so that my little brain can cope.
Much appreciation for the help.
Progress so far:
Boards primed.
Timber purchased for underframing.
Track plan now includes scribble concerning scenic dressing.
More brain work undertaken as regards contours.
I'm also trying to fit the track pieces on hand into the plan so that I can buy the missing bits.
Stupidly, I forgot for a time that putting a turn-out into a circle requires compensation on the opposite side."

Woodwork today if I have the time.
I hope there will be something to take pics. of soon.

SWMBO has reached the Emma Chissett stage.

Don:

'Emma Chisset"

The late Kenneth Williams was at a book signing and he asked the next lady in line "To whom shall I sign it?"
"Emma Chisset," she replied.

After signing it he realised she meant 'How much is it?'.

A beautiful (unused) Black 5 has just arrived from South Africa!
At the moment it is the Pride of the Entire Fleet (of one!).
A very generous donation from Don towards this enterprise.

I found this football supporter in a sack of Llama carrots.

Don't view it upside down.

Nothing is easy.

My timber underframing on one half of the baseboard (you remember it's being constructed for lightness) has gone 'boing' into a warp overnight.

My own fault, I know I should have made the frame and attached the ply instead of building the frame onto the ply.
I hadn't drilled and fitted the corner pegs yet either.

I know the answer, thanks to Gordon.
Buy a woodburner.

Oh Dear! That is annoying, frustrating and demotivating. :brickwall The wood burner purchase had better wait until next Winter though.  :???: You need the cash now, for the layout.
