I have to admit Birtley is not one of the local shows I have done before. May see you then.

Birtly and Jarrow are shows I try to get to every year, usually on the Sunday morning. Hopefully I will get a chance to say hi.

Look forward to it, most probably Saturday unless I can persuade the mother in law to go to the exhibition on Sunday as her Mother's Day treat?

First day has gone very well !! Not only was Potters Lane the only layout to feature AC locos its was also the only modern image layout as well so guess who got all the attention. As a result I have had requests for three more shows one at Gateshead and two in Shildon (one at the NRM! ) Spent all day chatting to the public about the YMR modules, westcoast stuff, etc and had even chatted to the guys from the Stephenson loco socitiy who named the origanal 87 101 ! Getting the layout up the stairs was fun as there was a tight turn at the top but we managed it without any major damage. I lost count of all the positive feedback we received with regards to the overall presentation and the module itself. I will have to get bigger doors to the house though so I can get my head through! The 08 played up so tonight I will be modding the pick ups before tomorrows outing. Thanks to Diesel and Mojo for turning up in support I look forward to seeing your pics. Just a shame that they missed each other by about 15 mins! A very enjoyable day. :thumbs

Tried to upload the photos but got the size limit thingy. So, try again. I'd second Diesel's comments. It's amazing how much Dave has managed to pack into the diorama, and the depth he has achieved. I just hope the photos, if I can upload them, do it justice. You're all in for a treat when this is hitched up to the other modules. Thanks for the tour of the layout, Dave, and for the advice re the backscene. I leave it to you to explain how you did it. So, this is what I saw:

Those pics look great Brian although I didn't relize the look of concentration was that bad on my face! I took quite a few of the big layout that was downstairs this morning before the doors opened so I will post them up later once I have had time to recover from a none stop second day. I would like to mention that there was a compertition for best layout as voted by the public and I was told this morning that everyone had been voting for ME !! Unfortunatly as I was down as a trade stand so I didn't qualify.     :thumbs
