This is a very good article on creating a backdrop to your model railway. Even if you think you are hopeless with a paint brush read this and you might surprise yourself. Backdrop Know-how. ____________________ The time in Spain is : Barchester |

Hi Robert, I have read the article that you gave directions to but just one question, it shows how to put the masonite on the corner etc but what do you use to screw the board to the wall on the straight parts, it is only 3mm thick so it will be a bit hard to countersink the screws and then plaster, tape over them, so with the straight boards do you just use liquied nails on the wall? this would be interesting to try and get off later if you had to!!! Hi Anthony, I've used 5mm masonite and countersunk, glued and screwed to 2 x 1 uprights screwed into the base board. You can just about see the uprights behind the masonite in this picture. ![]() The radius of the curve is about 400mm. Hope that helps. cheers ____________________ Marty N Gauge, GWR West Wales Newcastle Emlyn Layout. Newcastle Emlyn Station is "Under construction" |

Glad to help. ![]() Obviously you lose a bit of baseboard space by adding the 2x1 behind the backboard and I had to tighten my maximum radius a little bit from the plan but it was a minor glitch in the scheme of things. enjoy. ____________________ Marty N Gauge, GWR West Wales Newcastle Emlyn Layout.
