Keep at it fellas, 2nd day - it will get easier, also drink water - you feel less inclined to sit down with a glass of water & a fag.

& those who like a sweet cake, etc with coffe/tea, OK have water & a slice or two fruit.

Last night we went out to a posh restaurant...
This one - http://www.divido.com.au/
for my birthday, my sister is over from Melbourne so it was something extra special.
The desert range was mouth watering:
Tiramisu,
Vanilla Bean and Poached Pear Pannacota,
Baked Lemon and Goats Curd Cheesecake,
Lime Tart and Double Cream....
...I had the cheese platter, without the biscuits...

Keep it up boys.

Take heart, gents; it can be done.

I smoked up to 40 cigarettes a day for over 25 years but gave up way back in 1990.

I found that employing an incentive was the best way for me. I took a large jar and put the amount of money I would have spent on cigarettes into it every day.

It was pleasantly frightening how quickly a large sum of money built up. I was soon able to purchase a new computer with the money I would have otherwise just burnt.

Just think, that new loco or a rake of coaches would soon be within your reach.

OK. It's not easy to give up and I'll admit to a slip or two along the way in the early days, but believe me, you will never regret it.

Good luck to all those trying to quit.

Perry

Great to hear you are still all staying of the tobacco

Keep going guys, your health will improve and, as Perry says, just think of the rolling stock you could buy with the money you have said

Keep The Faith

Matt

Unfortunately the financial benefit of stopping smoking doesn't work for me because my cost is only 4.9 euros a week, if that, so from that point of view I don't care.
It's Ciudad Patricia's, where we live, 25th anniversary since opening today and also the day of our annual BBQ, so this year it's a freebie. The staff do all the cooking and usually the doctor keeps the sangria glasses full. We start at 13:30 our time and I can guarantee that by 16:00 there will be a lot of legless pensioners doing their thing as the band gets going. This will be a good time for me to forget about smoking as there are very few smokers here so I will concentrate on the food and drink.
If I'm in any condition to post again later and start waffling then you will know the reason why so please excuse me in advance.
Phill I have nothing but admiration for how you are applying yourself to this and I hope I can eventually do as well as you are.

Well it's all over and the staff did us proud. Salads, loads of bread and ali oli and white wines to start with followed by lamb chops, sausages and pork fillets with an endless supple of sangria. Finished off with water melon, sumptious Belgian ice cream and champagne. Brilliant. The music that followed was great too with a couple of hilarious acts and the whole thing finished up with, what else but Viva Espana. Not a cigarette in sight so I did ok there too.
