OK, a new day - keep drinking that water, eating fruit .
I know exactly how you feel attempting to give up.

Do not attempt to have just one puff, or cake because if you are like most people, it won't be enough & you will want another & away you go again.

While the cake/chocolate addiction is not as bad, the nicotine one is - use the patches & if you must put something in the mouth, try chewing gum.

But that said, if you have reduced your intake a fair bit since Day 1, good on you - cold turkey is for some, slow reduction for others.

You have to want to give it up!!

Day 4 already, wow going quick. No weed for 4 days now and i think my body is rejecting the crap i have inhaled as i am coughing up a lot of ..., can not say on here :? . Anyhow i am feeling loads better now and i am chewing gum when i am at work. Now my lodger has moved out i have the train room back so my day off tomorrow is re laying some track to make a sideing for the centre of my brewery so that should keep my mind of it, also the Grand Prix is on.
Hope your doing better Bob, keep going we know you can do it and Peter you as well.
Marty hope your diet is going ok and not succumbed to a cream cake.
Well done guys. I just like to say as well thanks for all of you guys for encouraging us along this long and rocky journey, without which i think i would of given in by now, so thanks.
Phill

Day 4... whooo wheee, having never smoked I have no idea how hard it is to kick the habit, but that you guys have made it so far is sensational. Well done PM for putting your hat in the ring, as far as I am concerned you are a champion for giving a go.
I'm glad that there others of you here that are able to support our "challengers" in their quest from the perspectice of having successfully completed the challenge.

Having said that, no cake, biscuits or coffee for 4 days has made me feel a lot better and my tummy has settled down too. Yesterdays lunch was salad and tuna, and a medium one at that, normally a large bagel and a jam and cream doughnut  ... and water, water, water.

Last night I started twisting up some more trees for the diorama and listening to the friday night Australian Rules Football. Collingwood slaughtered the reigning premiers Geelong. Geelong's first loss of the season. Would have been more entertaining if it hadn't been such a drubbing.

The trees kept my mind off the ice-cream that COULD have followed dinner. My corner supermarket is 4 doors down the street and the cafe at the end of the block has Gelato by the scoop. To me that's a challenge.

Well done Phil, well done Bob, over a third through the first stage means that it is a third that you don't have to do again.

Your lodger didn't just move out did they Phil :!: Is that another benefit of the challenge

One thing at a time eh Phill. I love my food but I never have trouble dieting if I need to lose a couple of kilos, smoking's a different story though.

Great resolve Phill and definitely the right attitude - you'll certainly beat it if you carry on like this.

Just noticed this new section in the forums. Wow! Great idea.

I'm one of the fortunate ones who never saw the attraction of smoking in the first place, so I nearly didn't bother to have a look. But after reading the posts here, I almost feel like starting so I can join you in giving it up.

Still, I do have that other problem of overeating and not exercising as much as I should. So I guess I have something to aim for regardless.

Keep it up fellas. I do know it can't be easy, but remember, smoking is only for steam locomotives - oh, and Alco diesels.

Keep going ......
