I've seen posts on various forums where people say they've bought the kit Chris, but I've not seen any posts about building it yet. It is still a fairly new kit though. Ed ____________________ Engineers just love to change things |

Thanks Ed. John from Scalescenes sent me the kit instructions. I read it several times from A to Z. This kit is absolutely not for me. I don't have the skills and the patience to build it. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As a once regular builder of Scalescenes models, I would recommend downloading one of the small free Scalescenes kits and starting there. The costs are minimal, and if it goes wrong you think you have wasted your time, but no, you have aquired skills which will last your modelling lifetime. I was about to suggest exactly the same thing. Doug gave me similar advice many years ago and I am so glad I followed it . My layout now has all manner of Scalescene structures........relatively inexpensive and lots of fun building Best wishes John ____________________ John Granby III Lenz DCC,RR&Co Gold V9 B1 Windows 10 |

I did several tests this afternoon. The results are: 1) I killed my color ink cartridge, 2) I have absolutely nothing built that I can post here, 3) I threw all that junk into the wood stove. The Scalescene kits (like all others cardboard kits) are absolutely not for me. ![]() Sorry to disappoint all of you... ![]() |

Hi Chris, I'm with you on this one. A set of cartridges, which lasts maybe 3 large kits, is now $75.00. It is actually cheaper to take the file and get it printed at a store on a color laser printer. I like printed stone/brick/corrugated steel though. Nigel ____________________ ©Nigel C. Phillips |

I am happy with the Scalescenes I have done in the past but did revamp a Metcalfe station building using Gormo's method http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=11121&forum_id=21&page=95%C2%A0%C2%A0 http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=14344&forum_id=15 ____________________ Ron NCE DCC ; 00 scale UK outline. |

Remember, you don't have to print out the instructions, they are very 'ink heavy', just work from the the download on your screen. Ah ...but Metcalfe & Superquik cardboard kits come with the instructions. No printing out required. With the Scalescene instructions I just printed a page out in grey scale which uses far less ink. ____________________ Ron NCE DCC ; 00 scale UK outline. |
