Hi All. I have been reading about Model Railway figures, and I was thinking how do you fit a driver into a cab of a Multiple Unit Train? When the train is running forward it is okay, but, does that mean that the train is being propelled ( driven from the back cab) or does one fit a Driver at each end . Okay Drivers do ride in the back cab when the train is busy. But not as a matter of course. Best wishes Kevin

A driver at both ends Kevin. - definitely. You could explain the tail end driver as reading the paper or whatever. It's difficult to explain a train with no driver at all - unless you're a "Soul" singer ................!! ____________________ 'Petermac |

Hi Petermac. Thank you for your reply. I am certain that there are some penny pinchers around that think that it would work, following on from Dr. Beeching, and Driver only trains , unmanned level crossings. Etc, etc.Best wishes Kevin ____________________ Staying on the thread Kevin. |

It's one of those compromises we modellers have to contend with, unless you can make an easy way to pop figures in and out of the cabs as you change the train's direction. Perhaps with DCC and a small motor you could rig a rotating driver's seat, with a driver when up one way and empty when up the other way. ![]() ____________________ Jeff Lynn, Amateur layabout, Professional Lurker, Thread hijacker extraordinaire |

Hi Jeff. Thank you for your reply. I had seen a YouTube video recently, was it c/ o yourself? With a band playing on top of a railway wagon. So I suppose if one is a very skilful Modeller it could be done, with a lot of hacking and a good imagination. Best wishes Kevin
