Thanks Kev.

I've often looked at it and thought, if it works, it's much cheaper than cork and easy to pin the track to - even using those stupidly thin Peco pins.   It reminded me of the Sundeala board we used to use in black and white days ............

I did wonder about the sound deadening qualities - good to hear it does the job. :thumbs

Just a small update to show how little I have done. I have taken away the sidings near the signal box and replaced them with a turntable. As it is a Hornby model it sticks up a bit so I decided to cut a hole in the green felt topping to reduce the height by half

I found some cheap rhinestones on our favourite auction site to use as lightbars on Emergency vehicles £1.65 for 50, they are 10mm x 5mm and dont look too bad

Also found a couple of bargains on the 'Bay' , A Lima 156 Super Sprinter for £28 which runs as silent as a mouse, A Lima 3 car DMU for £25 which needs a service but still runs a bit hesitantly and two yellow repainted Mk 1's which need finishing in Network Rail livery for £6.49

You can just about see them in the above photo

That looks good Kev and when it's had all it's scenic work added it will be a nice feature, also the rhinestones really look the part.

:hi Dave, In the words of our good friend Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson..............Mines faster than yours cause it's a red one..............

No seriously it's a Hongwell (I needed a magnifiing glass to find out), and it's screwed together and even has Ford badges, number plates and a spare wheel underneath. Excellent quality and detail and only £1 from the cheap shops. Hope you are keeping well mate, good to see you back :cheers:thumbs

I much prefer your 'Harrys End' to this Harry's (non) beginning, all joking aside Im enjoying seeing your progress, especially on an 8x4 board.

Good luck with your project
Harry
