Hi, I am starting my first DCC layout and the first question is: I have a Peco double slip and one road leads directly on to a point. It's recommend that all tracks from a double slip have insulated joiners. Do I need to do this into the point road ? And immediately have a feed at the toe of the point? Many thanks for any advice. Ian. |

If your slip and point are both Insulfrog, then you need no IRJs (insulated rail joiners). If they're both Electrofrog then you need IRJs on the two vee rails at each end of the slip and also those on the point. Best practice for DCC is to have DCC feeds on each piece of track so I'd have one on the stock rails of both slip and point. I don't know why some people say put IRJs on every rail of a slip - it isn't necessary. ____________________ Robert |
