It's being disassembled for our move, Chris.

Is it going to travel well and be restored or be part of a new layout?

Thanks, Michael.  It had some superficial damage, but it has arrived OK.

Monday we hope to move the Olpharts Crossing plank, which is a bit over 5 metres long.

Thanks, Daniel.  We're in no danger.

Across the water, Kangaroo Island is well ablaze.  The other day we were feeling quite unwell from the smoke.

Nothing to what the locals have to bear; so we can't complain too much.

At the local flying field, visibility is quite restricted so we have to keep the models close.

Cheers

Good to hear you aren't at any immediate risk. I saw that Adelaide wasn't too badly affected, but we've had news reports showing the devastation on Kangaroo Island, as well as the other regions affected, especially NSW.

It's apocalyptical, and absolutely horrifying.

Likewise, pleased that you are safe from the fires, if not the smoke.  My thoughts and prayers are with all our Australian friends here.

Good news, Max just a quickie to say I heard from John Wiffen last week, he's O.K. but his air, too, is very smoky.

I understand that even those vinyards that have not suffered a incineration will be badly affected by 'Smoke Taint' which gets inside the grapes and ruins them. Hmmm, a bottle of Aussie Merlot is one of my 'go-to' wines now I'm no longer in SW France.

Hi Douglas

Yes.  Here in the Adelaide hills we've lost a large area of vineyards to the fire - also apples, pears and cherries.  It will take several years to recover.
