A new project I am working on is the different styles of Station roof and awnings the GWR adopted. The two main types were the older, separate roof and awning, where the roof was built over the main building and the awning a separate structure built against the masonry. The later type was an all-over structure,which encompassed both the roof and awning ny means of a girder structure, with the building, usually flat roofed beneath. On a recent visit to Toddington Station, on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway, I decided to 'have a go' at the main booking hall with this type of roof Below is the 'skeleton' of the ironwork, which will hold the roof and glass. This is made out of 200 GSM cream card, folded double for strength and cut out individually  I have temporarily placed it on a part built model of StAgnes station, the complete station layout I created for the Museum at St Agnes

Hi Michael, That's some nice looking 'iron work', (although card) you have there. I love this type of scratchbuilding. I would like to see a close up pic of the structure before it is cladded in iron and/or tile, if at all possible ?? I have put up a couple of images of the girder work in close up. Sorry for not good focus!   Below is how I create the general fames of the ironwork. Firstly, I design the image in duplicate, one above the other, then score between both and fold , then cut out between, making the 'Criss-Cross' effect. I then cut strips and glue along each edge, a rather fiddly and tricky job, but makes for extreme strength and good effect. The image below shows the main girder, with the strips along the top and bottom  |

Excellent.  I can imagine how fiddly cutting those triangles sections out would be, let alone gluing on the top and bottom strips. You have the patience of a saint.
