Has anybody any ideas as to where (or what I might use as a the basis for) I might find some interior furniture (in particular for the Metcalfe Station Building) As I work on other parts of the layout adding lighting in the goods shes and the signal box it strikes me how bare the inside of this building actually is. It has dividing walls which are in the process of being painted but it would look so much better with some waiting room furniture and maybe a flickering coal fire (easy enough with the tiny LED's that are available) but I'm struggling to find even something to use as the basis for suitable furniture. I guess it's down to scratchbuilding from balsa or odd plastic scraps? |

Having found just one image of the inside of a Southern Railway waiting room (Horsted Keynes) it seems that the seating was actually rather more spartan than I had anticipated, looking to be nothing more then just planking on brackets (I was expecting something slightly more refined than this) so maybe just some card or plastic strips made up to scale will suffice. There are loads of images of the platforms and the associated furniture but interior shots seem quite scarce. |

I have a fireplace, planking on brackets and some basic bench seating, 3D printed and available from Shapeways. Click on the link in my signature. If you had a photo, or a link to one, of anything that you thought might be appropriate, I could look at creating a model of it. I'm always looking for new ideas. This is the fireplace. ![]() ____________________ Peter OO Bidley DCC Layout with TC8 Gold Model Railway Structures |

Fine Scale Buildings also do a set of furniture, with some office items. http://shop.finescalebuildings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70&products_id=194 Jim F ____________________ SECR and LBSCR 1900 - 1910 OO |

Use Scalescenes too, interior elements and bits and bobs from other kits. Did go to the bother of making stuff from plasticard before but wonder if it's worth it for what you really see. I did go the bother of making a bakery display from milliput I was really proud of. until it was pointed out my ice finger were about 8" long and my lovingly hand crafted baguettes near on 3' haha. | |||||||||

I'm on a poor campsite connection in Lombardy, but if anyone can point the way to Bear's End Station in Great Western style it might help Ian, booking office S'masters office, waiting room etc. Doug ____________________ 'You may share the labours of the great, but you will not share the spoil...' Severn Models have just produced a range of furniture in etched brass - superb detail, very easy to make, excellent instructions and very helpful too. They are planning on making office type furniture as well in 4mm. http://severnmodels.com/epages/eshop1179816.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop1179816/Categories/Model_Railway_Kits/OO_Gauge__4mm_to_1_foot ____________________ Ian Lancaster Please visit my OO Gauge 1930's LMS layout "Jencaster" http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=14622&forum_id=21&page=1 |
