G'day all, here are some pics from the Epping Exhibition I attended today. Oh, that's Epping in Sydney Australia, not the Epping north east of London ! It was a good day with my boys and it was even better to catch up with Brian (Gormo), face to face ! This first layout is Spicers Creek, a 7mm layout depicting a length of branchline in Western NSW, between Gulgong and Mary Vale. ![]() ![]() The next layout is from Model O Kits. An excellent 7mm/O gauge layout showcasing all there available models. ![]() ![]() ![]() Rydal Hill, a HO scale NSWGR/SRA layout. A very simple through line with a single siding. ![]() ![]() This next layout is called '638 Mile'. A nice branchline terminus set in the 1960's through to the 80's. ![]() ![]() ![]() Above is the terminus station on '638 Mile', with a rather modern (90's) Countrylink railmotor (DMU) sitting in the platform. This next layout is a European layout, named 'Estate'. Some very nice retaining walls, bridges, buildings and extensive catenary. ![]() ![]() ![]() This next layout 'Bolivia', is a stunning layout based on the prototypes from around that region (between Glen Innes and Tenterfield) in Northern NSW. ![]() Above. Bolivia Station is actuially a model of Glen Innes Station. Below, The Howes Truss bridge is modelled on the Tenterfield Creek bridge north of Tenterfield. ![]() Below, A train carrying tanks meanders its way through the typical boulderous country of the northern NSW (New England)landscape. ![]() The next layout is for the Tram fans. This is 'Sydney Trams', a HO scale model of early Sydney depicting some of the unique buildings, including the old Fort Macquarie Tram Sheds, which was situated where the Sydney Opera House sits today. This is the penultimate showing of this wonderful layout. ![]() ![]() Below. Fort Macquarie Tram Sheds. ![]() ![]() Under the catenary of Sydney Trams. Over 20 years old now and still working. The layout has been converted to dcc. Couple of buses for Jeff (SRman) ! ![]() ![]() There are a few more pics to come of the stunning layout 'Charging Moose'. Back shortly.. ![]() Cheers, Gary. ____________________ ...as a young lad, it was big trains for little boys, now it is little trains for big boys...! http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=12116&forum_id=21 |

Hi Gary, I was there yesterday as well - where you wearing you YMR badge? I was impressed by the O guage layouts especially the bush detail on Spicers Creek, the first layout featured in your photos ,which included an area that had been burnt out - you can just see a bit of it in the second photo. ____________________ Dave Notmutley British OO outline, DCC - NCE PowerPro, Sound chips, Computer Control- RR&Co software |

Hi Dave, Sorry I missed you. I didn't have my badge on but I did trail my boys around throughout the day ! Maybe the Sydney and surrounds based contingency of YMR can catch up at the next exhibition, either Clarendon (in one months time) or Castle Hill, then again, there is always Liverpool ! Clarendon details ; http://hmhs.org.au/ 20th -21st, Cheers, Gary. ____________________ ...as a young lad, it was big trains for little boys, now it is little trains for big boys...! http://yourmodelrailway.net/view_topic.php?id=12116&forum_id=21 |
