While doing a bit of detailing I found I had no vac pipes left, and no guitar strings that I could chop up. I do have some very thin wire though 32 SWG a bit over 0.25mm and some 0.6mm so put the reel of 32 SWG on a bit of rod in the bench vice, took a couple of turns round the 0.6 and inserted them into a pin vice, then turned the pin vice by hand bindng the 32 SWG tightly round the 0.6, when I had an inch or so I cut off the 32 SWG and brushed superglue over the bound length.

Let it set bend and chop to length as required. Looks about right for N gauge, for larger gauges obviously uswe thicker wire.

The 32 SWG I getfrom The Range it's sold for stringing beads!, think I paid about £1 for 25M, Hobbycraft also carry it and some on line sellers, most are a bit dearer though
