Manchester seems to have a large number of railway bridges and there are plenty of different designs to inspire those of you looking for something more than just the bog standard plate girder bridge.

Some very interesting bridges there David - a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss on a few of them.

Yes indeed. Some weeding wouldn't go amiss either.
I should have also pointed out that all these bridges are in or close to the centre of Manchester and within comfortable walking distance of each other.

Cracking photo's there David. Brings back memories of my many rambles around the city! Have you seen Ron Hegg's thread on rmweb? http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/28293-manchester-central-clc-gn-warehouses-castlefield-viaducts (sorry about mentioning the opposition!). He's modelling Manchester Central together with Castlefield Viaduct and the relevant bridges. AS Stu (Stubby47) has mentioned elsewhere on here, there is some amazing scratch-building on display.

Regards

Bill

I hadn't Bill but you are right about the amazing scratchbuilding! His model is probably stronger than the real thing.

David
