Went out into deepest Dorset  yesterday to get some stuff from Scale Link, finished up spending considerably more than planned (as one does!)

Managed to get most of what I was after, those "finishing touches" cast chimneys, etched brass gates, fencing and mesh, cast gate posts and those fancy bits outside some shops etc Pilasters to give them a name, a few cast vehicles and a couple of etched things like a knife grinders barrow, horse drawn coalman's cart, a bike shed - I only went for the gates and gate posts honest guv!!

So today has been assembling and painting most of those bits, plus an accumulation of other similar bits from Langley, PD Marsh, Fleetline, Shire Scenes, W&T Ten Commandments & uncle Tom Cobleigh and all.

So far 8 cars, 4 lorries, a bus and a coach, 3 wagon loads, men with barrows 3 sign posts, a letter box, miscellaneous  bsrrels casble drums, oil drums, 16 brick gate posts, 20 chimney pots 4 dustbins, still to do, 3 horse drawn carts (2 cast one etched), 1 double deck bus, gates for Factory, school, houses, knife grinders barrow, the shop pilasters, - will iy never end  :brickwall

Time for some grub, so I can carry on later!

Still at it, one of the odder sods has been hacking a PD Marsh white metal Bristol KSW kit into something looking like a Leyland Titan TD1, using plastic, wire and modellers putty; as long as you don't count the windows it's not looking too bad. I'm getting towards the end of this round of kits and bits, still got a few bits of painting to do, but may get round to planting some gates and gate posts on the layout and populating the roads with a bit of traffic. That's one advantage of modelling 1930s, not so many cars, vans and lorries about, and a few horse drawn vehicles to slow them down too!

I can recall walking to school (late 30s early 40s)  just under a mile each way and rarely seeing a car or van, milk and bread deliveries daily were horse powered, the coalman had an old Bedford lorry, butcher's lad delivered on a bike, groceries came on a bike too.

Nostalgia rules!

Miiiike!

You can't tease me like that without photos!!!

All of the toys... Ahem... Necessary details that you are working on are future items needed on Newcastle Emlyn.

I've got a couple already... But nothing like your collection.
