Just a reminder for all you fellow N Gaugers that it's the NGS AGM next Saturday.

This year it's being held at The Civic Hall,  off Park Lane, Poynton, Stockport, Cheshire SK12 1RB.

I will be there with my model of Market Havering Station which is based on the station at Codsall and look forward to meeting any other YMR Members there.

I'm planing on going. As well as the layouts, I'm looking forward to seeing the range that the NGS shop has plus Farish are apparently going to there. Should be a good opportunity to see the forthcoming releases.  Better leave my wallet at home though

If Farish are in attendance could somebody please enquire if/when the Southern Mogul is likely to hit the streets, similarly if any Dapol presence a query re the Schools and Maunsell coaches, I emailed them about a week ago and had no reply so far. From comments elsewhere it would appear they are now publishing their news on Farcebook and Twatter (which many people don't use) instead of their web site and forum.

I'm starting to get the impression that the manufacturers anouncements of forthcoming releases should maybe read, this year, next year, sometime, or never, at one time they would define the expected quarter for a release.

I sometimes wonder if these "Forthcoming announcements" from various suppliers, is more an exercise in judging how popular a potential model might be rather than any firm commitments from the companies concerned.

I've only recently returned to the hobby but I seem to remember that announcements would be made in the modelling press of what was going to be released in the next quarter and those models would appear.

Reading on some threads, it seems people are placing pre-orders and then having to wait more than a year for a model to be released.

Not acceptable IMHO.

I tend to agree. It almost seems that manufacturers announce a new model before they have actually done anything towards manufacturing it. They then wait to see what the advance orders are like and if they are insufficient the model gets cancelled.
