I messing around with something like this at the moment after finding something called 'Panorama Maker' in Photoshop Elements. Canon include 'Photostitch' withtheir camera software too which is quite good. Printing bothered me, having a rubbish 10 years old HP which is fine for letters. A quick 'Google' revealed several printers that one could upload a finished file via the web and send back a large print on a roll. Here's the file made up from 1/2 a dozen or so images. ![]() http://www.nevardmedia5.fotopic.net/p43716341.html The trick is to shoot with manual exposure and white balance to ensure all images have the same colour and brightness, this avoiding any differences between stirched pictures. |

I'd be interested to know where you are getting your prints done Chris, I went to a local printer and asked what the cost would be of a 12 inch by 6 foot print - £52 ![]() ![]() I think I managed a thank you before exiting, suitably numb :? |

On the other hand Lawrence it can make or break the effect and although it is pricey, it is so much better than many of the comercially available backscenes. I am considering "the whopper" at the moment which is a lot cheaper than what Chris has done but somehow for modellers of British railways you can still tell that the picture they have used is of somewhere other than the UK. The shots Chris has used look just like where I used to live in Gloucestershire - very authentic (Chris will probably tell me they were taken in France now ![]() Les ____________________ Devon Junction Kernow Junction |

Excellent Chris, that's what I hope to do, I've got the Canon and photoshop software and have dealt with the local printers for business reasons in the past. Now all I need to do is get the starting photos of the Teifi Valley. ![]() ____________________ Marty N Gauge, GWR West Wales Newcastle Emlyn Layout. Newcastle Emlyn Station is "Under construction" |

Interestingly enough, Les, International Models used to sell the Woppa, but I see are now profiling a new range of photographic backscenes on their website. If it's the sort of scenes you want, then they look quite good (and they are reasonably priced) Here's the link:- International Models Backscenes |

International Models always are worth looking at for all sorts of scenery products. There's alot more out there than Woodland Scenics. Panoramic printing can be a bit pricy, OK, it's the price of an engine, but think how much more it could do for your railway than yet another loco? |

Ron has attempted to print the file but printing from the file direct gives a picture shrunk onto 1 A4. Just incase this is the same problem for anyone else here is the reply I sent to his question When I print oversize pictures I use Coral Photo-Paint, one of the print options is to "TILE" this automatically prints the picture on several sheets, I will look at another way of doing it, If not I can break the big picture into A4 chunks over the weekend. Quick update before I head off for work, If you open the file with Microsoft Paint and do a print preview it will split the picture into several pages, reducing the margins increases the available print spaces thus reducing the number of pages. If you go to page setup and reduce the margins to 5mm. Set to Landscape not Portrait. and untick the Centering Horizontal and Vertical. This will reduce the number of pages to 6 John RJR |

Off topic but relevant I think. Is clicking on the e-mail link at the bottom of each post not the same as typing in the e-mail address? It seems that it may not be so from reading the above posts and I was wondering why.
