It's not often I put Mac software here but this is one our Mac users might be interested in if they are into computer aided layout design.

Thanks (again) Bob - I responded to this on Phill's thread, but now I have the space to post my humble opinions on this piece of software here.

OK. A brief overview, considering I have only just downloaded the software and have merely 'played' with the track design parts...

Easy download (just over 6MB which took less than 60 seconds to my MacBook on my cable internet conection.)

All major gauges covered, including Z and TT :D

All major track manufacturers and codes covered in the library - except Hornby

Layout track design is a simple drag and drop procedure.

The instruction manual is 79 pages in length - perhaps some other evening :?

This is a shareware demo download. It is complete except the user cannot save, export or print. To do this a purchaser's license key must be purchased ($29.99) which open up all areas of the software. It also permits access to regular online updates.

No time as yet to play with the scenery and gradient functions.

I might be tempted to buy this product...

Tim, Please keep me informed on your progress with this. I also have a Mac computer. Desktop, 24" screen, OSx 10.5 Leopard. I have also added Windows Vista, because there are so many programs that are just not available for a Mac computer. I would still prefer to use the Mac side though when ever I can.

I have been using RailModeller Pro for about a year now and it is great.
The software is actively supported and being enhanced with regular new features.
Runs like a dream on my MacBook.
