I've been off the modelling scene for a little while (my mother died rather unexpectedly at the end of August) but I'm hopefully back.

Here's one of my latest projects; a TDA bogie tanker made from a 3D printed body with added details and rather badly painted - I cant seem to get the masking neat over ridges especially in N gauge). I just need to add some etched ladders.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Grahame.

Did your Mum have a good innings?

Masking tape can be given neat edges by cutting with a sharp blade in a bit from the edge of the tape, using a steel rule to cut it straight.

The tape has a rough edge straight off the roll.

She was 77 but wasn't ill or anything (apart from the usual old age things like arthritis and going a bit deaf) and was living unaided on her own (her husband died a few years ago) coping well and looking after herself. She had a fall at home and died in hospital of ischemia. It was quite a shock. I was there with my brother and sister when she passed away. It got refered to the coroner who has also decided to open an inquiry in to it.

Thanks for the tip about masking tape edges - I'll remember and try that next time.

Z.
