Beeches TMD is a modern image OO gauge end to end layout. It is run using NCE DCC equipment. All of the locos are fitted with sound decoders and lighting.
The layout is loosely based on a TMD set in the north west of England.
I plan to build a fiddle yard to terminus layout based on GWR lines but set in the all familiar 60s period as I have a mix of steam and green diesel stock.
The line is set in the late 1970s, early 80s and it's assumed that local CalMac steamer services call at the pier to enable through trips to Inverness, somehow the fishing industry is still using the local processing factory, and there is another local industry off stage which allows me to run a variety of rolling stock.
Base boards are made from 4mm ply, the track bed has a frame and cross members made from 20mm x 15mm timber. Back scene has a frame made from 20mm x 15mm.
I am currently in the process (and probably will be for the rest on my days) of building a model of Birmingham New Street station and its southern approaches in P4.
The layout is a dog bone linked with a continuous double track oval. N gauge gives me decent train lengths running along two sides of the room on a shelf 12 inches deep giving me about 20 feet of visible main line. The rear of the oval is hidden under scenery with one corner providing storage for 4 x six coach trains.
My layout has three main areas, a Scottish fishing village which was originally supposed to be in the West Highland but has turned out be a remarkable resemblence to Lower Largo in Fife where I grew up. There are two other sections; a Swiss mountain Scene which I am working on at the moment and a German city scene which has not yet bee started.
Newcastle Emlyn is an N gauge GWR branch line layout representing part of the West Wales branch from Pencader to Newcastle Emlyn from about 1934 to nationalisation.
As a complete change here are great photographs of coaches on the Middlehurst and High Cross model railway layout.

I returned to modelling about 7 or 8 months ago after a break of too many years to mention. I'm building a new layout called Much Murkle located in the Herefordshire, Forest of Dean area. It's a branchline terminus set in the 30's.

Metcalfe Building Kits. I have given this manufacturer a section of it's own both because it's products have played a large part in the building of Barchester and because I think it is the best manufacturer of card kits on the market.
Scalescenes Building Kits. Scalescenes make excellent kits and several of our members are using them, hence this section, which complements the Metcalfe section above.
Materials & Tools. Everything you need to add the details to your model railway. Household items, tools, goos, gunks and links to online suppliers etc.

A fictitious extension of the SR route from Padstow the short distance to Newquay permits operation of through trains by that route as well when running suitably themed stock.
One of my WD's crossing my latest creation, a four feet viaduct built on a gentle curve with track emerging from a cutting and my Rotten Row development on the hillside.

Croftfell is an end to end layout measuring 8x2, but hoping to double this to 16x2.
The layout is dcc controlled and i have just ventured into digital sound with the Bachmann 37-254 in BR blue.

The layout is set on a lightweight base board about 6 foot by two. I plan to build a fiddle yard to terminus layout based on GWR lines but set in the all familiar 60s period as I have a mix of steam and green diesel stock.
Redbrook is somewhere in Southampton, situated near to the docks. (Time period 2005 - present)
The area modelled is a small light maintenance depot owned and operated by Freightliner.
The line is set in the late 1970s, early 80s and it's assumed that local CalMac steamer services call at the pier to enable through trips to Inverness, somehow the fishing industry is still using the local processing factory, and there is another local industry off stage which allows me to run a variety of rolling stock.
Set in the West of England it will hopefully reflect the GWR, and will consist of the ubiquitous branch terminus, with a little industry, an oil fuel/bitumen/coal depot and one or two other bits and pieces.
The space for the layout measures 18' x 10'. It is essentially a rectangle with 2 long runs each 18' x 2' 8" and short 8' connecting sections at each end
Lydford Road was built as my personal layout and never ment to leave home but to date it has been to 3 exhibitions: Hayle, Falmouth Three Spires & West of England at Carn Brea.

The layout was constructed as a testbed to try finescale track,electrofrog points,electromagnets,
and DCC. The layout is 4ft long and 10" wide, with the scenic section being 32" long.
The Heatherburn railway is my 00 gauge garden railway and is an out and back design. Trains start their journey from Heatherburn St Davids station. This is located in the garage and is based on all the best bits from London termini.
